Misty RoseA Poem by The Golden PenMisty Rose by Mary Aris Copyright 2010 All rights reserved
I watch at dusk as the tides roll in,
Teardrops falling down like salty pellets From misty aquamarine eyes crying I look up to catch my breath as the sunsets. The foamy sea with her wavy blue black- hair A sultry, seductive mistress she seems to be. With a nuance of seduction and savoir faire Seduced you and took you away from me; And now all that's left is this solitary rose The nuance of an old-forgotten love affair. As the waves break against the sand, so does My heart break in tiny pieces in mid air. As the sun slowly sets upon the horizon And the light from the lighthouse yonder Hits the waves in silent prisms I realize you're gone Leaving behind this misty rose as a reminder. Picking up the rose my lips quiver, Mourning the loss of my beloved sailor. ©2010 Mary Aris © 2010 The Golden PenAuthor's Note
