The Villain I Appear to Be

The Villain I Appear to Be

A Poem by Thatone
"

A poem about how someone else's words become your image to other's ears.

"

You had an out.

Things were over and done with

A long time ago.

I was that one.

That one you painted me out to be.

That…

B***h.

That…

Naggy, overly annoying person.

That…

Person who couldn’t let go of anything.

That…

Girl who didn’t care about anyone but herself.

While you were painting beautiful

Murals of your delusions

For everybody around us,

I was home pining for your attention.

Isolated from any form of love that I knew.

I had to beg and fight for any semblance of emotion

That I could drag out from your heart.

When I had had enough

When I couldn’t do this anymore

Suddenly, your painting wasn’t so beautiful.

Suddenly, you had all the emotion in the world.

Now I was that one.

Now I was that one who broke your heart.

Suddenly I was the villain you had painted me to be.

Just because I decided to paint something beautiful for me.
