The Memory I Never Had

The Memory I Never Had

A Poem by YoungWriter
"

It's difficult to understand: A woman moves into a neighborhood to find an "abandoned house". She walks in and has memories she's never had before. Then the house disappears. It was her imagination.

"
it looked like a regular family home from where I stood
I just moved in and I'm new to the neighborhood

I walked up the steps to start a greet
as I knocked and waited, there was no one to meet

the door opened by itself and I let myself in
it looked like a tornado swept through time and time again

there was glass broken
toys scattered around
the devil had spoken
and brought disaster that had always been bound

I walked deeper and deeper
feeling chills upon my skin
it got steeper and steeper
wondering where all of this had to begin

a memory ran through my mind that I never before recalled
I had never seen them before and have never been involved

a father was abusing a mother
she was holding a child
by night fall she ran
leaving him drunk, violent, and wild

and just like that it all flashed away
I have never recalled it again since that day

before I left to go back to my home
I walked around the house to roam

after everything was seen
it could not be unseen and I feared
just as quickly as it was seen it all disappeared
