The Last Time

The Last Time

A Poem by Carson Scott
"

A sad poem that came to me a while ago. I can't really say what it means. You have to figure out what means to you.

"
She feared and cried,
for her two sons.
Stretched arms out wide,
reached for her young.

Pulled from her grip,
taken away.
Blood and tears drip,
pulled to her grave.

Like a rag-doll,
dragged on pavement.
Thrown on the wall,
in enslavement.

Two boys alone,
left with each other.
Head on a stone,
there lay their mother.

i see a mother, perhaps a slave, losing her children through oppression and dying from the pain and shock of it.

i also envisioned "sophie's choice"--the movie about the mother who had to choose at the end between her children, to save one and kill the other.

this is so sad.

the last line should be "there lay their mother"----i think---if it is just past tense.

another good write from you....glad to have found your work.

A very good poem Carson.
It is hard to live without the love of a mother.
A sensitive write.
