Mirror Hate.

Mirror Hate.

A Poem by ThatPeculiarGirl :3

The Girl in the Mirror

I see her every day

I see her fake smile, laughing like she really means it

I see how pretty she is, but she won’t believe it

She thinks she’s ugly

I try to tell her otherwise, but she just turns her head away.

I hear the way people talk about her

Fat

Stupid

Unloved

A loser

Some love her

They say she is beautiful

Amazing

Inspiring

Perfect

But she tells them that they lie.

She refuses to listen to them.

I soon began to not like her.

Why should I?

Nobody else does.

She’s a freak.

But sometimes I still think…

I hate those kids for what they whispered in her ear.

But the one I hate the most is the girl in the mirror.

Not sure I have enough fingers to count the twists and double meanings I saw in this. I really quite liked it, rather than leading to a full conclusion it sort of left me with a sense of questioning - which all the best messages do. I have no notes on how to improve this, so thanks for sharing :) *Thumbs up*
