A Love Worth The TroubleA Poem by Lady DecafTo show that distance is a minor hurdle in love.
This time last year, we slept in different beds
Fantasies, lucid dreams, were things to fill our heads We'd reach out our fingertips and touch the shining screen Hopelessly loving (secretly doubting) everything One thousand four hundred sixteen miles kept you away from me Longing to have you no matter where I had to be Now here we are after all our nights alone The same bed, same house, every mile has but flown From the space between us to the past I'm where I belong at last Listening to you snore as you hold me close to you Seeing your smile, watching your lips say, "I love you, too" Remember when the nights were so long and cold? When we fell asleep alone with nothing to hold? Now we sleep in each others arms as if the make up all other nights We kiss until we fall asleep under the same celestial lights I've chosen a love that was not easy in the start A love that made me accept the world, and slowly healed a hurt heart The love you've given is the greatest of all It's the love that has crawled across miles, swam oceans, and conquered mountains tall So as you dream here next to me, I'll watch you with a smile Cause I now know true happiness....even if it took a while. © 2015 Lady DecafAuthor's Note
