It's So Dark In HereA Poem by Lady Decaf
Underneath the ground, you can't see the light,
You can't feel the sunshine, even if it is burning bright, You can't see the stars, not when you're below, You can't watch them sparkle or admire their soft glow. You can't be with your friends as they cry through the night, Wondering why you did it....you were so full of light, You can't comfort your parents as they try to hide the pain, No,you're stuck underground...under the snow and rain. You thought your life meant so little, till they lowered you down, You thought you enjoyed the dark, until it was all around, You thought nobody would care if you put a bullet through your head, You thought to yourself, "it would be better if I was dead". Now you are stuck in your place underground, Even though many people come to see you, you can't make a sound, You can't tell them that you love them, even if you tried in that note, You can't take back the bullet, the slits, or pills in your throat, Your problems were momentary, and you chose the perminant choice, You chose to give up your life, your friends, your voice, You chose this life of darkness, of nothing but the earth, And you slowly start to ponder what was its worth, Was it worth hurting your friends, to finally be alone? Was it worth having your mom find you, to have your name engraved in stone? Was it worth giving up your life, for things that you now cannot fix? © 2014 Lady DecafAuthor's Note
