To My Sister, From Your SisterA Poem by Lady DecafThis poem was written by my best friend, Stephan. I thought I would share his story. To all those who are members/supporters of LGBT...I love you. <3
When I told my father I loved a man,
He beat me with his shoe, When I wore make-up to a party, I was called a fairy, When I was fifteen, I was going to run away with the man that I loved, But he laughed and said he changed his mind, When my mother caught me wearing her heels, She screamed at me till her voice wore down, I had no friends in middle school till I enrolled in dance, There I met a special friend by fate or chance, She danced like the wind, Perfect in every way, And I told her I was gay, So she hugged me and said it was okay, She became my closest thing to an Angel, And her home was my Heaven, She showed me what family could be, And I showed her how to accept yourself, And our friendship is something unbreakable, Something deprived of gender, Cause no matter the outer appearance we take, She and I will always be sisters. © 2014 Lady DecafAuthor's Note
