Lucid Dream

Lucid Dream

A Poem by Lady Decaf

This bed is big enought to host two,
But I sleep in it alone wishing my pillow were you,
The night is cold without your arms around me,
And I wish these nightmares would just let me be,
I wish you were near to sing me to sleep,
Have me count your kisses instead of counting sheep,
I dream of your touch, of your smile, your voice,
These blankets would cover us both if given the choice,
Who wants to sleep when their love is away?
Who could sleep knowing one day,
Your midnight longing would soon be fufilled,
Never spend another dream alone...not another night chilled,
Yes I wish you were here to recite your poems as you stroke my hair,
And I reach for you...yet only feel air,
It could drive a girl mad...if she weren't already so,
Sleeping without her love...sleeping alone,
So in my dreams...I sleep with you,
Under the stars of heavely hue,
And we talk about nothing but it seems so much,
And I smile at every drempt up touch,
Cursing the sun and the clock as they awaken,
And out of your embrace I am shaken,
To face a new day alone...till the night comes again,
To slip into sleep and only then,
Be joined by you there in the dead of the night,
You in my dreams to make everything right.

About
Hey, I'm Jo. I have been writing poetry since I was 13 as a way to express myself. Along the way it evolved into a passion (obsession?) and a way to meet new people. My poetry topics fluctuate but I d.. more..
