a mortal questionA Poem by ThanzehThis poem delves into the profound themes of mortality, struggle, and the quest for meaning in the human experience. It reflects on the inevitable cycle of life and death,
The blood we bloom from,
The Earth we made from Alone we come, Alone we go. The life of man, The death of man: Sorrow, struggle, sins; Strengthen the sword of perseverance. Oh, Creator! For what do we live? For what do we die? To be slaves of our obsession? Bound to our rule; May it be the emperor Or a humble slave? None shall know longevity; For he is a slave A slave who is a slave. In this cycle unbroken, What can be freedom? © 2024 ThanzehAuthor's Note
