You're Special

"If you have a dream girl, don't let the world change who you are.
You can be more than a TV star". You don't have to be a bad chick to be loved or respected.
If they can't take you serious straight, no need being their chick on the side, just simply forget it.
Held onto so much pain, won so many trophies for Best Catastrophies.
Just dump out the dusty memories, and put your jersey back on, so you can take home the real victories.
So why constantly flirt with fear and fight with it, when you could just turn around and simply walk away from it.
And as much as we see ourselves as good people, it doesn't make us a bad individual, but we still have flaws.
After all, that's just part of being human and all.
And though not needing the power of drugs, but still feeling lifted.
It's amazing to know that God made us unique, know it or not, we're all still gifted.

I read your poem. The last is great. It resinates what you poem is about. I think you could definitely work on wording. You used the word "chick" twice. I would try to diversify wording. I would revamp the structure, I did find it a little difficult to follow. In the end these are just humble opinions. In the end, the person who has to be happiest with it, is yourself.
