My Ugly Mug

My Ugly Mug

A Poem by A Modern Hippy
"

It's inspired. Really.

"

My muse is a strange little devil,

All colours and indistinct form.

A vicious incarnation

of my own inclinations

Seemingly set to trip me off the level.

He displays a child’s charm and strange wit,

When he stops for a moment and thinks.

But most of he’s time

is spent planning his crimes

During which he’s not nice, not one bit.

Too thin and a foot under small,

A rainbow with shades for a heart.

He’s totally nuts

and an inhuman klutz

That could trip and wind up on a wall.

My muse is a strange little devil,

For a demon of my own design.

He’s green and not blue

and without a tail too

And he’s a she, which is a whole other anvil.

Author's Note

A Modern Hippy
I wrote this after watching a beautiful french film about artistry, in which featured a manifestation of an artist's muse. It's a brilliant film provided you let it enchant you, and I'd recumbent going and finding it.

Delightful. I too have a Muse who makes me move. Mine is also amusing.
(crime would be better than crimes - English teacher stuff) I enjoyed the form you chose for this.

P.S. How does this Rating system work? (I'm new)
