Character Concepts: The Lonely UndyingA Story by A Modern HippyAvailableEden De Mort, The Lonely Undying: *Human. Female. 16yo. *5’7. Red hair, blue eyes, pale skin. Slightly stocky. Blue jeans and white shirt. *Doesn’t feel physical pain. Can’t die (yet?). Aura of sadness that causes those around her to weep, without affecting their movement or thinking. Almost always singing. *Always trying to help others regardless of situation. Ignores damage to herself. *A bone knife for the names of the people she meets, and a crystal knife for the people and creatures important to her. Does not feel the carving; the pain is separate and comes after, like a reward or punishment. *To die with the names of everyone she’s ever met carved into her soul. *Wistful, alone and possessing a sadness beyond comprehension, Eden De Mort wanders worlds looking for something capable of ending her life. Her only release from her waking limbo is when she carves the names of the people she meets into her stomach, causing her pain. When she uses the crystal knife, for people and creatures she values, it causes such immense pain her body breaks. She clings to this pain as the only sign of anything left inside her. Almost all of the time she is singing, ballads, poems, songs, folktales, all of them melancholy and haunting, stopping only to inscribe names or talk to someone. [Backstory: Killed in her home in France during WWII, along with her family. Awoke in the ruins the next day fully alive, with the wreckage of her home and family strewn about her. Has since been traveling, helping others whenever she can and looking for a way to end her living limbo. Though she has never said anything of it, many of the songs she sings appear to relate to the Ravenous]. © 2014 A Modern HippyAuthor's Note
