The Truth of: Maths (MTAWA)

The Truth of: Maths (MTAWA)

A Poem by A Modern Hippy
"

Something I wrote during high school. As I'm sure you can guess, I wasn't having a great time, though that was purely me and nothing to do with my poor teachers.

Mollycoddlers Tent Association for Withering Abuse

The Association is a joke,

of unparalleled esteem.

Set up by a broke old soak

intent on drowning his spleen.

Opening doors to hells unknown,

a future of numbers and fire.

The garden of cost is well overgrown

and surrounded by fences of wire.

“It’s important, a must, a need”

they said as they marched me out the door.

“It’s a curse, a bust, a weed”

I cried as I lay upon the floor.

When you reach, and reach you will,

that godforsaken class,

I’ll pray for you and wish you ill

(it’s better than the farce).

Author's Note

A Modern Hippy
I repeat, this is not a go at my maths teachers, or any maths teachers. It's merely something I did to relieve stress. Please don't take it the wrong way, it was not intended to be insulting.
