Meaning

Meaning

A Poem by A Modern Hippy

Pages staring blankly at me
from 'neath my ink, crying
to bear meaning.
Such pain, indescribable

 pain, the want of meaning,
unfulfilled, tearing and shredding, making
gateways
where there were none,

allowing the meaning to spill
over onto blank pages, devoured
as by quicksand, gone, lost
'til illumination renders light impotent, and purpose

is regarded as knowledge, and lack
of that which the tears fall for
is split, from whence shall rise
the silver souls of the immobile to relieve us of our purpose.

We cry for meaning.

Author's Note

A Modern Hippy
Make what you will of this piece. To me, it is the literary expression of writer's block, which is the source of this piece.
