Word: Anthropomorphism

Word: Anthropomorphism

A Story by A Modern Hippy

I gazed at the keys.
I'm not sure what I was planning. I never told Myself what I was planning in Me. Things got about if you told anyone.
So I didn't.
The keys gazed back at Me, impassive and implacable, ivory faces blank.
I love the word for it.
Anthropomorphism.
An-throp-poe-more-fizz-m.
As if the vowels were launching themselves in an energetic attempt at flight, the consonants just sliding off your tongue in a stream of slippery sound.

Keys unlock things.

That would be a good start.

Author's Note

A Modern Hippy
The 'Word:' idea is something I conceived in school, that allowed me to focus on the words that really made me stop and think about them, their meaning and the sounds they put forth from each individual mouth. I'm now putting it on here.

Would appreciate contributions on this one. Favourite or enjoyably words, let me know and I'll write them. :)
