Passage

A Poem by A Modern Hippy
"

I wrote this for a friend who was finding very little reason to hang around anymore. Tried to encompass what I saw as the beautiful things in life, which includes the things that sometimes go wrong.

"

Flame, Fire, dew and mist,
Thoughts, emotions, good friends missed.
Dirt, Clay, gravel and grass,
Red the coals of shattered glass.

Armor of a different kind,
Protects from a form of harm.
Against people of a different mind,
It keeps the peace, and restores the calm.

The ghosts of past and future flock
To fireside and of friendship mock.
But the present holds, keeps its own,
And the seeds of life-long bonds are sown.

Hot the flame, bright the dew
Cold the air, many true.
Merry the taughter, neither wrong nor right
Joy in plenty, throughout the night.
