Our FireA Poem by TheTattooedPoet
Here in an instant.
Gone in the next. How can a flame burn like an inferno, Then die down to a flicker? All it needs is one good spark to ignite it again but instead, You keep trying to blow it out. I turn myself into a wall, Blocking your blows. Trying to keep my little flicker alive For as long as I can. Frantically searching for the metaphorical sticks To rub together... But as I'm searching, You sneak around me and when i go back to check, Our fire's out. Nothing but a thin, rising line of smoke remains. You killed it. And along with it, Any chance of our happiness. Leaving me to sit in the dark alone... And cry.... © 2010 TheTattooedPoetFeatured Review
