How we broke

How we broke

A Poem by Tea

The look in your eyes shows me the stars have died tonight alongside all of the shells of all the half eaten snails laying on the beaches of excursion and lucidity, it isn't even real

When you held my hand and we walked, it wasn't you I was holding onto

I held on to the thin thread of balance that everything we built for each other was never to be relinquished to another

When I look down at myself now, I don't hold on to anything

The planes drift by up high and I'm sure the passengers have a lot to say to us

I wonder if they'd ask us how we salvaged
Or maybe how we fell...

Maybe they'll ask us how we broke

A sad and melancholy way to express what you feel inside about loss. It's a tough feeling to lose someone.
