Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice

A Poem by Texas
"

It's for a contest. It made me think. :D

"

As the Solstice draws near,

Trees shed their leaves

Raining down like tears

And weaving blankets in tree-eaves.

The wind stirs leaves and snow flurries.

To home the forest creatures hurry.

The crisp smell of Winter rides the wind.

The Solstice starts to begin.

The days are short.

The nights are long.

The days are bright.

The nights are dark.

The shortest day and the longest night

Mark the start of Winter's reign.

Reads like the beginning to a fairy tail, these long dark nights make my imagination grow. You have painted a clear picture of Winter Solstice.
