To Corpus; From CorpusA Poem by TexasIt's about driving down to Corpus Christi, and back. My Dad's from Corpus, so it's a normal, boring, about four hour drive. :DColourless translucent winds, Dance through Texas pine and Texas weeds. Glides the birds of prey to their feast, in sorgum, wheat and cotton fields. Slouching to the side in the back seat, looking out with chin over shoulder At the white cloud blotched blue sky Seeming to be unmoved, As the roadside rushes by. No music on the radio or MP3 or CD. Only the sound of the wind rushing by Combing and tangleing the long brown hair. Sunbeam rays warm the face on a day with an Autumn morning and a Summer afternoon and Spring night. And at night, With the Night Sun shining its bright white-blue rays of light, And the Night Sun surrounded by white, blue and sometimes red, twinkling lights. There is a calm. A calm that is never recreated. And now, Windows are up, a pillow at the back and a blanket on the lap. Looking up to the midnight sky with twinkling jewels surrounding Her Majesty, the Night Sun. And with looking there is a silence. Night dreaming of the dreams to come tonight. © 2010 TexasAuthor's Note
