Evergreen

Evergreen

A Poem by Texas
"

Inspired by the pine trees on the campus at my college.

"

Evergreen pine.

Everlasting sign.

Creator's love for all mankind.

Evergreen pine,

Swaing as the winds unwind,

As mankind walks the path lined

by oaks and firs and evergreen pines.

Evergreen pine,

Ever undying.

The pines stand, a sign that the sun will return, a sign that we can hope for Spring in the middle of a harsh winter. The reason for the use of a pine as a Christmas tree (which I don't do because I can't justify killing a pine tree for decoration, but I understand the symbolism). Beautiful poem.
