RememberA Poem by TexasThis one takes place on the Corpus Christi seawall at the bay. My dad's from Corpus and whenever we go down there, on our way back we always stop at the seawall. I just need to remember to remember.Stand. Stand on the seawall. Stand on the seawall and breath in the salty air. Feel. Feel the sand. Feel the sand in your face and run between your toes, so warm and coarse. Taste. Taste the gritty sand and sour sweet salty wind. Hear. Hear the waves. Hear the waves crash and the seagulls cry. See. See the tide. See the tide come in and out as sandpipers run to and fro. Smell. Smell the air. Smell the air of the bay and remember it as you leave. Remember. Remember the bay. Remember the bay and how it felt to stand on the seawall, Remember the bay and how it tasted, Remember the bay and how it smelled, Remember the bay and the sights, Remember the bay and the sounds. Remember. Remember to stand on the seawall and breath in the air. Remember to feel the sand. Remember to taste the sand and wind. Remember to listen to the waves and seagulls cry. Remember to see the tide and sandpipers. Remember to smell the air. Remember to remember. © 2008 TexasAuthor's Note
