Nature's Poem IIA Poem by TexasThis is Nature's Poem plus what else I wrote to continue it. The first stanza might not be in the same set-up, I "re-wrote" it from memory in Orchestra.River flowing down the mountain, To the lake beneath the sky. See the moon with the stars, Shining down upon the pine. Hear the wind move the reeds and the cat-tails of the mountain lake. Hear the shuffle of the rocks as eagles nest for the night. Harken to the quiet of the night, As you rest to wait for morning light.
Feel the sun warm your face, As evening fades to morning grace. Hear the calls of eagles as they wake from restfull sleep. Hear the murmur of the river, Flowing gentle down the mountain. Stars fade to painted cotton-clouds, As the moon sinks behind the pine. Velvet sky wans to sky of blue silk. This is nature's youth. Hear the quiet of the morning, As you wait for evening calm.
Sun sinks behind the pine, Moon rises from behind the mountain pine. Gentle murmur of wind and river, Lullaby to sleep all of nature. Eagles nest for the night, Above in cliffs safe in the mountain's might. Reeds and cat-tails flow with grace, Beneath the shining moon, As you rest to wait for morning light. © 2009 TexasAuthor's Note
