Nature's Evening BeautyA Poem by TexasThis is inspired from a landscape that I draw. It's about the only thing I can draw. And no, I do not have a picture of it.See the pines rise high above, To meet the Moon and Stars above. See the mountains in the distance, Reaching up to touch the Moon and Stars. See the Moon bathe my mountain's side, With her blue-white light, So bright and calm. Hear the mountain stream flow sweet, From the snow peak to the mountain lake bottom. Hear the weeds and grass and cat-tails stir, As the gentle wind bends them to his will, To and fro they stir. Hear the silence. So peaceful here. Here on my mountain's side. As I wait for the Sun to rise. No cricket's song, No nightingale's voice, Disturb this serene landscape. Here I lie, Bathed in the Moon's blue-white light, Waiting for dawn to silently sound. Here I lie, As the Wind combs my hair, Waiting for dawn to silently break. Here I lie, In Nature's arms so dear. Here I lie, In Nature's evening beauty.
