I Long To...A Poem by TexasThis is one I just wrote for the Heck of it. This one is 21 lines.I long to go to my past. I long to breath the Smokies. I long to know the Cherokee, to whom I am tied to five diluted. It is a part of me. It is who I am. It is me. I long to stay where my roots are planted. I long to breath the Texas air. I long to embrace my past. I long to embrace my future. I long to embrace the hopes of tomorrow-year. I long to embrace the ghosts of yester-year. I long to breath the air of nature dear; And to see the Eden Garden. I long to go to my past. I long to breath the Smokies. I long to know the Cherokee. I long to stay where my roots are planted.
