I Long To...

I Long To...

A Poem by Texas
"

This is one I just wrote for the Heck of it. This one is 21 lines.

"

I long to go to my past.

I long to breath the Smokies.

I long to know the Cherokee, to whom I am tied to five diluted.

It is a part of me.

It is who I am.

It is me.

I long to stay where my roots are planted.

I long to breath the Texas air.

I long to embrace my past.

I long to embrace my future.

I long to embrace the hopes of tomorrow-year.

I long to embrace the ghosts of yester-year.

I long to breath the air of nature dear;

And to see the Eden Garden.

I long to go to my past.

I long to breath the Smokies.

I long to know the Cherokee.

I long to stay where my roots are planted.

I long to breath the Texas air.

I long to embrace my past, my futhure, my today.

I long to be who I am.

I long to ...

I really liked this poem. I think that the most human thing that we do, is to want(long). Not to mention that I fully understand what you mean about keeping your roots and breathing the Texas air. All together great job

Longing for things of beauty with in one's past experiences and scope of knowledge.

That's what i got out of this.

I liked the repetitive flow to this. Like climbing up or down the latter of life.

I enjoyed this piece.
