Until We Meet AgainA Poem by Gary WestA fond farewell.
(The following is dedicated to the memory of Dorothy Nona West, my grandmother, who passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012)
The wife of a preacher, now gone home The sister of a savior, yet to return The daughter of a Creator who watches A homegrown scholar of the Word A bearer of life-lessons A heroine in her own time Ever-faithful to her God Never wavering with doubt A smile in the darkest hour To her childhood friends, "Dot Doris Marianne" To her fellow believers, "Sister West" To myself, "Gramma" A lifetime of tales and adventures A rare soul who truly lived One who will never truly die This is not a “Good-bye” It is only a “See you later” Until we meet again © 2014 Gary West |
