The Fighter

The Fighter

A Poem by I. G. Flickner

Stand.

Fight.

Fight for every wondrous sight

Beheld by eyes in glorious light.

Fight for the pain forced upon you,

For all the hurt life’s forced on you.

Fight against the many, against the few

The things that scarred, and made you you.

Fight for the small things,

For the everyday things.

The marvelous, precious things,

Held so close to heartstrings.

Don’t live for strife.

Don’t fight for life.

Fight because of where you’ve been,

Because you're never going back again.
