Pura Vida

Pura Vida

A Poem by Tess

We surrender the weight of our bodies

To the Costa Rican sand

Letting go fully

With trust

Staring up above

Admiring the colors of the sun

Painted in the clouds

In gentle strokes

Slowly morphing and changing

As the earth rotates

The night sky comes over us

Like a familiar blanket

Wrapping us in ancient

All-knowing love

The sun curls further underneath

And the stars confidently come forward

Scaling us and all of our worries

Back down to size

The tensions from the day

Are released into the breeze

Allowing our bodies to become less noticeable

Until we fully dissolve into the darkness

Becoming a part of the sky

With only our breath to remind us

We are human for now
