And I Smile

And I Smile

A Poem by tess
"

For my Day One.

"

Your lips are bound,

Head inching closer toward knowledge.

I can’t imagine a mind so pure,

So quick, so lovely.

I look at you and I smile,

Heartbeat accelerates,

Lips forced shut

Covered by my shadow’s hands.

Your eyes glisten,

Hands meet the small of my back.

And I start to feel sick

So quick, so queasy.

You look at me and I smile.

You smile.

Nothing could be so perfect.

So pure.

But we are both bound to another,

And I'm afraid if I touch you, you’ll die.

I’ll die.

But we touch anyway.

The whole room goes black for a minute,

I look at you,

You sparkle showing the way

And I smile.

About
I suck at poetry..... I am sort of in love with Walt Whitman..... (Yes I know that my font is small; it is like that for a reason: there to resemble life/the things we have to pay close attention.. more..
