Gypsy Eyes

Gypsy Eyes

A Poem by Terry O'Leary

You’ve mirrored me in gypsy eyes,
                                         which never take but borrow

You’ve bathed me in your gypsy eyes,
which are your pools of sorrow

You’ve gazed at me with gypsy eyes,
                                         which never see tomorrow ...

Thank you, NiteOwl... glad you enjoyed!!

Of course, many gypsy eyes claim the ability to see tomorrow. Also, they've often been accused of taking not borrowing. "Pools of Sorrow" will probably find general agreement.
Obviously, stereotypes are all I have; don't think I've ever known a single gypsy.
Still, Terry, I did enjoyed your lovely, lyrical poem.

I like poetry about the Gypsies. A culture and belief that loved freedom and the road. I like the way you used the description. Left the reader with a haunting place and memory. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
