Help, the Firefly

Help, the Firefly

A Poem by Terryg

Help! The firefly,

She's gone.

Her light's out.

Put some Kerosene in my lamp, Teri go.
Leave this town now on an enchanted journey.
You can do this.

Go to where the fairy
lights glow all night.

Check all the bars
and churches.
Go check by the sea.

Hire a boat.
Sail to Madagascar.
Don't forget to write.

If you end up
in Budapest….

I just might join you. Because, I really like the sound of that place.
Listen:

Budapest…

Budapest…

Budapest…

Beats the sound of Madagascar. No?

Yeah, but you like Madagascar. I can tell.

Okay, never mind. Don't go.
Maybe that damn firefly is still here in the backyard.
