APPEARANCE IS NOT EVERYTHING.

APPEARANCE IS NOT EVERYTHING.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN VIEW ON LIFE AND PEOPLE AND DEATH

"

Appearance is not everything
Said Melville take those dames
Who come on with all their bright
Make ups and facelifts and suctions
And all their fine clothes and yet
Stripped down they’re just like the
Rest and those guys you see with
Their fine cars and neat suits and
Spot on hairdos and wads of dough
They’re just like us underneath their
Finery and heavy wallets all wait for
Mr Death to come all fear his cold
Touch and his chilly breath on their
Necks just like my old man playing
The game a sucker for those patriotic
Tales and lies who thought all was
Right and white and all came to those
Who work and wait but that Mr Death
Came for him as all the rest the good
The bad the happy the sad and that
Sweet chick he had on his arm those
Last few days gave him a good send
Off with sex and booze saying to him
Hey honey let it go you’ve nothing to lose.
