and looking back

to the cheap flowers

and false promises

when feeling put out

when he doesn’t know

his features
and gestures

and listening to his words

you shouldn’t be with him
but fly off

like the birds
but you’re not

like the birds at all

a woman in love
and unsure

of the reasons why

and make off to the sky.
