Today.

Today.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

a man and his understanding of mortality.

"

Today
as you lay

beside her,
you thought

you saw
her eyelids flicker,

thought her lips
made movement

to move words,
thought you heard

her brain
ticking over

thoughts
in her head;

you did not
of course;

she’s been lying here
three weeks dead.
