BOOZING WITH BUKOWSKI.A Poem by Terry CollettA MAN BOOZES WITH BUKOWSKI'S GHOST.You sit in the bar alone Except Bukowki’s ghost At the far end supping A phantom beer and Gazing at his reflection In the mirror on the wall Above the bar when a fat W***e enters and takes a Stool and asks the barkeep For a gin and gives you a look Like your Mother used to give When you pooed your pants Or puked after too many beers And ghostly Bukowski hums a Mozart aria with no words just The theme that wounds you Like a loved one dying in a dream. © 2011 Terry Collett |
