UNDOING OF THINGS.

UNDOING OF THINGS.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A LONELY WOMAN AND HER LETTERS AND PARCELS.

"

All that undoing of things, parcels,
Packages and letters and sealing
Up of such and sending off for items
Unwanted, just for the sake of buying,
And waiting by the door for the mailman
Or sitting by the window to see his arrival,
And him seeing you looking out, or just
Waiting on the other side of the door ready
To pounce on any items he pushes through,
Or when he knocks for you to receive, thinks,
How sad, how darn pathetic, and he takes
In your dark eyes and emptiness of soul,
And wonders if you write yourself letters
Just to say, I love you, as some sad folks do.
