DUMMY RUN.A Poem by Terry CollettA LANDLADY AND HER TROUBLESOME LODGER.I don’t know why you would want to bring those Types of women into this house Mr Myner I really don’t it’s not as if I’m a prudish kind of woman because I’m not but I have to consider my Other paying guests who have a rather Different take on life and who don’t want To open their doors to those kind of women Or hear the kind of things I heard last night And the language Mr Myner I have Never heard such language in my life and The type of things those women wear or in Some cases don’t wear and the make up my Gosh they look like clowns Mr Myner look Like regular clowns and the way they look At me when I complain and they always Go to your room it’s always your door they Go to I’ve watched them as is my right to Keep an eye open to the things going On and of course I have to take into Account and consider the welfare of The bed in that room because after what I heard last night I’d be surprised if there Are any springs left on the bed and I’m Not a rich woman I have only quite Limited funds and I can’t go around Replacing beds every time you decide To bring home here those types of women or Encourage them to come to your room And Mrs Tarnshower paused and looked at Herself in the mirror and said that’s what I‘ll tell him next time he comes in with those Kinds of women yes sir I will amen. © 2010 Terry Collett |
