THE SNOWGIRL.

THE SNOWGIRL.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

UNCLE JOE'S MEMORIES OF THE SNOWGIRL

"

Uncle Joe said he remembered
The time he was out walking in
The snow one winter when he

Saw this kid building a snowman
And she looked quite busy and
Had all the trimmings put in place

Carrot for a nose and small lumps
Of coal for eyes a finger drawn line
For a mouth her borrowed father’s

Pipe in between snowy lips an old
Hat plonked on the snowman’s head
And a large bottle of unopened booze

Tucked in the arms against the snow
Man’s gut and he stood to admire
Watching the young girl placing the

Finishing touches and she all dressed
Up in white hat and coat and he just
About to convey some words of his

Admiration for her efforts in the cold
And snow but he let the thoughts and
Words linger when she turned to him

With her rosy cheeks and deep blue
Eyes and gave him the up you finger.

What a b e a u t i f u l poem with this w o n d e r f u l picture, wouldn't there be the last line with the bad gesture that had me flabbergasted ...and then laughing...

A marvellous work!
