DIFFERENT DAYS.

DIFFERENT DAYS.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A WOMAN AND MAX DISCUSS MORALS AND PARENTS.

"

And of course in those days
You did as your parents said

Says Della you had no choice
And if you stepped over the

Line they set then god help
You I remember the time I

Was out with that Bodle boy
And got home late and there

Was the old man standing by
The front door with his arms

Folded and a face like thunder
And what time do you call this

He said and where the heck
Have you been and the Bodle

Boy backed away and off and
Left me with the prospect of

 Punishment but those were
Different days and different

Kinds of manners and rules
And sitting beside her listening

To her Max says yes they were
Different times and the rules

Were stricter and the parents
Like characters out of Dickens’s

Books with all stiff morals and
Morality and hard faced looks.
