ONE DARK HELL.

ONE DARK HELL.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN AND HIS LOST LOVE.

"

Sure the day has come
And the birds are singing

As they do at the break of
Dawn with that excitement

And joy they have and the
Sun is coming up over the

Horizon shyly like a woman
Undressing before her lover

For the first time and sure
They are playing your favourite

Schubert quintet on the radio
And you have clean socks and

Underwear and tee shirt and
Pants and the toast is done

Just as you like it but you are
Not able to appreciate it all

Because your love has gone
Off with the guy she met at

The Walt Whitman Society
In the fall the guy who looks

Like he’s sat in the sun too
Long and if you see him again

And her the woman who made
Your heart glad to be alive

You’ll pretend indifference
And say you don’t give a

Damn about it all but deep
Down inside and out your

Life without that girl is a big
Pile of s**t and one dark hell.
