THEY DON'T

THEY DON'T

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN AND WOMAN AND THEIR LIFE.

"

They don’t talk
Much any more;
He talks mostly

Philosophy which
She finds a bore.
Wittgenstein and

Spinoza, Nietzsche
And Hume; she’ll
Understand them

He’ll just assume,
Not taking note of
Her, even when

Undressed for
Bed; making
Love to her

Rampantly
Doesn’t
Enter

His head.
She lies
And pretends

To sleep as he
Sits on the bed
And reads his books.

She could have tattoos
On her a*s and he wouldn’t
Know, as he never looks. They

Don’t talk at all now, they’ve
Agreed to differ; he has books
And philosophy and she has her lover.

Interesting. A story from small words with BIG meanings. Falling away from a lover that has become a stranger. Great write.
