ONE AS SUCH.A Poem by Terry CollettA WOMAN AND HER DEPRESSION.She sits in sullen mood, She doesn’t want her food, Or merriment of their childish Kind, she occupies a darker mind. She has locked her door, Kept them at bay, nothing To share with them, nothing She can or wants to say. She has memory of his Touch and feel, doesn’t Want to remember, but Does still, wants to unfeel, Unlove, undo him from her Tender heart and skin, wants To put him out, but he, like a Maggot, creeps back in, worms His way into each pore, each Memory, each wound and sore. She feels the need of prayer, Hoping there’s a god out there, Someone to listen, to heal, to Softly touch, to deeply love, To forgive, if there is one as such. She wants no more sex, drugs Or booze, hopes she’ll win through, But expects to lose; wants no more Let downs, no lies, no hurt, no pain, Wants to be loved and cared for, Before she dies or goes insane. © 2010 Terry Collett |
