HENRY LOOKS.A Poem by Terry CollettHENRY SPIES A LOEVLY SENORITA.Henry looks from his Window at the senorita Below, sitting between Two pots of flowers, her Hands resting on her knees, Her red and black dress Enclosing her like a bound Bouquet of finest lilies. He Stands back in case she lifts Her head and spots him gazing; But the temptation of seeing Such beauty while it’s there Makes him move quickly to The window’s edge and peer Once more and drink on the Beauty with his greedy eyes. He knows she lives across The way, he's seen her before Standing by her door or at Her window standing, the Day before. Some nights he Spies her from his darkened Room, walking across her floor With nothing on, her nakedness An extra draw, his mind making Her likeness for memory’s safe To put away for some other time Or place. Now she sits between The flowers, her beauty holding Him, taking away his breath, Disturbing his mental thoughts, Stirring his deep desires. What God placed such beauty, such Loveliness before his eyes, he Muses, taking in her dark and Silky hair, her lowered stare, Wanting just to put a kiss upon Her soft cheek and leave it there. © 2010 Terry Collett |
