SEXY GARMENT STORE.A Poem by Terry CollettHENRY AND HIS WIFE GO SHOPPING.I can’t believe they’ve Got that kind of shop in Town, says Henry’s wife, It’s one of those kinky Underwear places, you Know the kind, with all Those bras and panties And over sexy bed wear; Enough to make a decent Woman cringe, she adds Shaking her head, giving Henry her severest stare. Henry raises his ebony Eyebrows. Can’t see you Wearing that kind of gear Anyway, Henry says, but Some might like to wear It for their private lives. Shouldn’t be allowed, She says, gives the town A bad name, people might Think we’re all the same. Where there’s a market There’s a supplier, Henry Says, some one must buy To make it pay. Oughtn’t To be making any money At all that’s what I say, She replies, the dark tigers Leaping from her eyes, her Hands on her hips. What Would you think if I wore That kind of kinky stuff And walked around the House in those thin things? Henry thinks, closes down His imagination, and says, I thank God whatever comes And whatever He in His Wisdom brings. The wife Stony featured storms ahead. Guess I’m going to sleep alone Tonight in bed, Henry sighs, Remembering his wife’s dark Tigers leaping from her eyes. © 2010 Terry Collett |
