NADINE'S WAIT.

NADINE'S WAIT.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A WOMAN WAITS FOR HER HUSBAND'S RETURN BUT THINKING OF HER LOVER.

Nadine sits and smokes a
Cigarette and thinks of Deon
And his antics. I will return

Home to Paris tomorrow, he
Had said. She smiles and taps
The bed. The smoke drifts

Ceiling ward, the scent of
Expensive tobacco. Meet me
In the Champs Elysees, he

Uttered on the phone a few
Hours before. Yes, of course,
She had replied. Anton was

Just dressing then having
Made love to her. Of course,
Darling, I will be there, she

Added giving Anton a small
Wink and smile. Now Anton
Had gone and she was alone.

The smoke hangs about her
Head; there is time to bathe
And dream and eat and make

Love before Deon comes with
All his talk of travels, foreign
Climes and new friends that

He had made. She finishes the
Cigarette and lies back upon
The bed and slowly replays the

Images of her and sweet Anton
Making love inside her head.
