NOTHING OF HIM.

NOTHING OF HIM.

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

POEM OF LOVE AND LOSS.

"

Nothing of him removed,
Nothing of his touch taken
Away. You want it there
Always, want the lips feel

On you, the breath of him
To be your morning awakener,
His hands over your breast to
Be your explorer, your fixture

In a world of undoing and
Dying and leave-taking. You
Want him always in your mind,
In your heart, the memory of

Him, the ache for him, the hunger
For him. You close your eyes and
See him, remember him, his smile
And the look in his eyes. You can

Breathe him in, the scent of him,
The smell of his nearness; you can
Hear the words of him, memory’s
Capture, the lyrical sounds, the

Utterances. Words on words.
Touch over touch. Gone now.
Him and all that. Memories are
All that’s left, all that remains.

You remember him always,
Despite the depressing pains.
