Shadows In memory.

Shadows In memory.

A Poem by Terry Collett

That road we walked

is empty now.

Sunlight warms,

brings shadows of that time,

short small windows of then,

not now.

I listen for sounds,

but there are none,

none of then

or yesteryear.

I could stand here all year

and nothing will change;

the past has gone,

is out of range.

Memory brings me shadows

of the once upon a time,

the tainted memory

of what was.

You I seek,

but you are no more,

just an empty shell

on a lonely shore.
