WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT.A Poem by Terry CollettA MAN AND WOMAN AND CRUEL LOVE.And it's all she has to show, all that's left, and he wanted so much, and she said: no (eventually), no to this and that, and it all unfolded, and was exposed, and he was just a liar, and spinner of deceit, and all he wanted from her was sex and sex games, and he never once asked her what she wanted or liked, it was all him, and his exploitation, and that time he said: can my buddy Max stay with us? and she said: yes, and he too ended up in the bed, and took her from the rear, and no more of this or that, she said, and now alone in the two-bit department, he gone off with some other girl, some other God forsaken mama, and she lies in bed in her skimpy underwear, a glass half filled with gin by her bed, music from the radio playing some funk stuff, and that time, she muses, he cut up rough and beat her up some, and her eyes closed black and bruised, just because that one time she refused, and that other time in that sex game, she the school girl, he the harsh teacher, then humped her as far as he could reach her, that's all gone now, he's gone, some other fool girl, taken him on and out, she''ll soon learn, Lilly muses, what he's all about. © 2016 Terry Collett |
