HOWZAT IN 1997.A Poem by Terry CollettTWO WOMAN IN IRELAND IN 1997 IN BED AND IN LOVEHow was Brian? Una said, laying beside Nuala in her bed. He was all right, Nuala said, staring at Una's eyes, feeling her body close to her. Did he ask where you were going? Una said. I said I was seeing an old school friend Nuala said, pushing thoughts of her husband away as best she could. Can you stay the night? Una asked. No, not tonight, Nuala said, That one night was just a one off after the party and he expected me to be away overnight, but it would be too risky to try it again. Una smiled, I guess so, she put her hand on Nuala's hip, her fingers walking moved over Nuala's buttock. Nuala closed her eyes, pushed images of Brian away as she sensed Una's fingers touching and stirring up sensations. She kissed Una's lips, warm, moist, sensed herself dampening, relaxing, getting hot, feeling with her own hands, like some blind mole, areas of Una's flesh, moving into hills and crevices, knowing she didn't do this with Brian, and he did nothing like this to her even at his most passionate. Una spread her wide, opened her up like a shell, as if she was an oyster to be sucked out and up and gone. Brian's 2 minute love making did not compare, it was just not there, it was a romp at best, a one-sided blow through at worse. Nuala felt happiness explode within her, yet she felt tearful, dishonest, a betrayer, a Judas to Brian. Una swam in the liquidy paradise, moved between thighs as in a vast sea of passion and hotness, her former lover Stu was not like this, she was a cold fish in a Norwegian port, a neurotic nymph who lay and fucked then lay and cried and quick dried then died. Nuala sensed her breasts touched and kissed and sucked. Brian rarely did, unless he was hanging in there for a foreplay, on the odd day. Una lay with Nuala in her arms, exhausted, hot, sweet, sweating, damp, with her cheek against her breast like a babe at rest. © 2015 Terry Collett |
